I was born and raised in Hong Kong, so horses were certainly not part of normal day to day life, but somehow I became totally fascinated by them. Fortunately at the age of five, I had the opportunity to learn to ride on the ex-racehorses at the world renowned Hong Kong Jockey Club. Eventually, at the age of ten my family moved to the UK, where it was possible to have a pony of my own! My passion for dressage began at a Pony Club rally, probably as it was the only activity that my pony Munchkin didn’t refuse to do!

In 2005, having competed internationally for Britain at Pony, Junior, and Young Rider level including the European Championships, I made the decision to represent my native Hong Kong. During this time I was making the transition from Under 21 to Senior level, and went to train with Anky van Grunsven.

In 2006, I won the Young Rider Championships with Jamiro, the horse I progressed with from Juniors through to Grand Prix. Later that year we made history as members of the first ever Hong Kong Dressage Team at the Asian Games. We led the team to 4th place and were 7th individually. In 2008 my dream had been to compete at the Olympics, and it would have been particularly significant being hosted by Hong Kong. But sadly, it was not to be due to injury!

I am back in the UK now running my own training yard in the Cotswolds and bringing on a string of young horses. 2009 was a special year as I got married! My future goals are to compete at the Asian Games and the World Equestrian Games in 2010, and ultimately in the Olympics in 2012. I have qualified for the Asian Games with my young horse Rocco and am very pleased about this as they are being held in China later this year.
